Best known as Joachim Löw’s assistant manager from 2006 to 2014 and helping Germany win the World Cup in Brazil, Hansi Flick has joined the Bayern Munich coaching staff ahead of the new Bundesliga season.
According to Kicker, Flick joins Bayern on a two-year deal after Peter Herrmann left the club during the offseason to become the new technical director of FC Nürnberg.
Flick comes with high praise from his former boss.
“Hansi has enormous qualities, both football-related and with people. He has a good nature and was always highly accepted by players and coaches,” said Löw of Flick.
This will not be Flick’s first time at Bayern as the former defensive midfielder played for Bayern from 1985 to 1990, playing in 104 Bundesliga games, scoring five goals.
According to Kicker, Flick will join Bayern before the preseason preparations begin.
