According to a report from L’Équipe, Joachim Kayi Sanda (18) is set to leave Valenciennes FC for sister club Southampton FC (both teams are owned by the same shareholder Sport Republic).

The French outlet writes that an agreement in principle has been in place for several months between the two parties, however, it is only recently that a transfer of €5 million (with VAFC retaining a percentage of his resale fee) has been ratified. The centre-back has a medical scheduled where upon completion he will sign a four-and-a-half-year-long contract with the Premier League side.

Joachim Kayi Sanda likely to be loaned out to a league below Premier League

Kayi Sanda (a France international at the u19 level) is thought to be one of the most promising talents of his generation and L’Équipe writes that some thought will be given to where he will best develop. It is not impossible that the teenager will be loaned out this winter but it is unlikely that he will return to VAFC due to their current position in the third tier of French football.
