Ahead of the early game between AC Milan and Venezia, Alex Jimenez spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the good run of form lately, expressing his qualities on the right.
Jimenez has played the last three games from start and last time out, against Inter in the derby, he bagged a lovely assist. In addition to that, he played really well and earned a high score in our player ratings, with the new formation suiting him well.
Speaking to DAZN ahead of the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Jimenez shared his thoughts on today’s game and his positive form lately. He also stated that he has taken a lot of inspiration from Theo Hernandez.
The coach wants consistency…
“We have to approach all the matches in the same way, like we played in the semi-final against Inter.”
The new formation suits you well. Do you take inspiration from anyone?
“I’ve always looked up to Theo, he’s always been my idol. I think that by watching him, I will always get better. Playing against him in training is tough, but it’s a dream: I never thought I’d ever play with my idol. I’m lucky.”
Personal goals for this season finale…
“A goal, let’s hope, and a few more assists. I’ve already got one, let’s see if I can get more today.”
Sergio Conceicao hasn’t made any changes to the starting XI today, so Jimenez will be able to combine with the same players we saw in the derby. As the schedule isn’t really packed anymore, it makes sense for the manager to opt for consistency.
