Chivas captain Jesús Molina is confident that him and his team-mates are hitting their top form at the right time ahead of repechage clash with Pachuca.

In a video conference, Molina has explained how the key to Chivas’ success has been not to lose enthusiasm over the course of the season.

“It will be a very close match. Pachuca also finished with several wins, so it will be an even duel, but we are working to go out onto their pitch for the win.

“The results have accompanied us in the last few matches and during the tournament, we’ve had good games with different formations.

“Many times, the result did not accompany us, but in the end, we as players have to read the current dynamics of Mexican football.

“Against Tigres, we had chances to win, but we did not take advantage, that’s how football is. Today we have met and that is beneficial for us, it is in our hands to be able to make the most of the tournament we have had.

“After the match, against Cruz Azul the mood was not good and the key was not to lose enthusiasm at work. We spoke as a team to make ourselves finish the season with dignity, to give our bodies and soul.

“We had a very good performance, and now we are one game away from the Liguilla quarter-finals and we believe that we can be champions, which in the end, is what we are all looking for.”

In last season’s repechage round, Chivas defeated Necaxa 1-0 thanks to a 52nd-minute goal from Jesús Angulo.
