Jesús Angulo is hoping that the Chivas contingent involved in Mexico’s pre-Olympic qualifying can replicate that success back at club level.

Angulo was one of six of the Flock in El Tri U-23 manager Jaime Lozano’s squad that has qualified for this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Víctor Manuel Vucetich’s men have just six games to rescue their play-off hopes, starting with Sunday’s encounter against third-placed Santos Laguna.

“Each player always tries to give his best in each game, sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t,” Angulo told a pre-match press conference.

“Things were given to all of us in the national team and now we have to spread that attitude of having been pre-Olympic champions in Chivas to that here we also lift the boat and be on the same line.”

The left-winger has featured in all 11 league games to date, starting in eight of them, with one goal and one assist to his credit.
