An injury time header from Pascal Struijk secured the Whites a 1-1 draw and a vital point at Elland Road.

The result means Leeds have moved out of the Premier League relegation zone and Marsch gave his verdict on the match.

“I’ve said since I’ve been here the mentality of our team to fight, stick together and go for things, especially with our backs against the wall, is at a very high level, so that rewarded us today.

“It’s typical that we get a big chance at the start with Joffy (Joe Gelhardt) and it hits our captain in our face, it would’ve been one-nil and the game looks very different.

“After that to be fair to Brighton, they managed certain moments with the ball and were able to unbalance us, we weren’t effective enough against the ball and we looked nervy on the ball at times and didn’t get ourselves into the game.

“We became more compact and in the second half we pushed hard though and we were a little bit unlucky not to come away with more.

“Everybody in the entire community here wants us to find a way to do this and we’re trying to do everything we can to fight for the points.

“We’ve got to now invest everything we have going into Brentford next week and be ready for a big match.”
