Manchester City’s Jess Park has been linked with a move across the city to local rivals Manchester United.
The Guardian are reporting that Marc Skinner’s side are interested in signing the 23-year-old midfielder, who was part of the England squad at the 2025 Women’s Euros.
Park made her senior debut for City as a 16-year-old, in 2017, and spent a season on loan at Everton in 2022-23. She made her 100th appearance for City during the 2024-25 season.
On signing a contract extension in June 2022 to keep her at the club until the summer of 2026, she said in a statement: “It’s such a great Club (with) the facilities, the coaching staff, the players, the environment… it’s where I want to be and it’s the club I’ve always supported.
“This is my club and who I want to play for, so I’m really excited to be here for the next couple of years.
“Whenever I step on to the pitch my biggest aim is how can I help the team the most?
“[Now I] just want to stamp a place in the starting 11 more regularly and contribute more regularly in every game I play.”
She made her senior debut for England in November 2022, scoring just over a minute after stepping on to the pitch against Japan in the 89th minute. Her first start was in February 2023, against Italy in the Arnold Clark Cup.
The Women’s Super League transfer window closes on Thursday.
Manchester United have been revamping their squad ahead of a season when they hope to make progress in the UEFA Women’s Champions League as well as domestically. They have just reached the third qualifying round of the European competition, and face SK Brann later this month.
So far, they have signed two Sweden internationals: Julia Zigiotti Olme from Bayern Munich, and Fridolina Rolfo from Barcelona.
However, several players have moved on from the club: many were academy players seeking first-team football, but others have secured loan moves, including forward Geyse, who is currently at Gotham FC in the USA.
And Skinner was bullish when asked about rumours that midfielder Grace Clinton might also leave when she was linked with Manchester City, saying last week: “I’m sure there are people interested in Grace, because she’s a fantastic footballer, but the reality is, the club have not told me anything of that.”
United begin their WSL season with a home match against Leicester City on Sunday, 7th September.
