Karl-Heinz Rummenigge made waves on Wednesday when he said that Jérôme Boateng was allowed to discuss his future with other clubs.

The Bayern Munich chairman has revealed that there have been no concrete offers for the Germany international but Bild quotes the former striker saying: “If a club comes to us and he says he wants to join them we’ll negotiate.”

The 29-year-old centra-back joined the Bundesliga giants in 2011 after one season with Manchester City.

Since that time he’s established himself as a leader within the club and also in the national set-up.

Due to his leadership role, Rummenigge said that any bids for Boateng would have to be sizable.

“I’m making no secret of it – any fee certainly wouldn’t be low.”
