Jeison Murillo just joined the Barcelona squad from Valencia on loan for the rest of the season but he’s already earned himself a one-match suspension.

The RFEF confirmed on Friday that he would miss the first leg of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey quarter-final clash with Sevilla due to yellow card accumulation in the tournament.

Murillo was cautioned in each leg of Barcelona’s 4-2 aggregate win over Levante in the Copa del Rey round-of-16.

In addition, Murillo had picked up a yellow card with Valencia during their 2-1 come-from-behind first-leg victory over CD Ebro in October.

Luckily for Barcelona, Thomas Vermaelen has returned to Barcelona training, though Samuel Umtiti is still out injured.
