On Wednesday, Barcelona announced the acquisition of defender Jeison Murillo on a season-long loan from Valencia.
Barcelona will have the option to sign the 26-year-old Colombian international centre-back for €25m at the end of the season.
Afterward, Murillo spoke to the media about having a lifelong dream come true.
“I have fulfilled a dream today,” he said of joining Barcelona, “I am coming with the intention of helping the team in whatever way possible and of trying to enjoy this.
“I hope it all goes well. I am a quick and intelligent player with good feet and lots of fight.”
Barcelona will formally announce the player of 27 December. Murillo will be eligible to play at the beginning of the January transfer window.
Murillo will provide cover in defence as Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti won’t return until the new year.
The centre-back has earned 27 caps with Colombia and has previously played for Granada, Cadiz, and Las Palmas in Spain.
Murillo made 61 Serie A appearances with Inter Milan from 2015 to 2017.
