Burnley weren’t messing about.
Vincent Kompany’s side would set a Premier League record for most consecutive home defeats if they fall to a seventh straight loss against Sheffield United today.
But they have come firing out of the blocks, scoring within the first minute.
Charlie Taylor’s cross from the left was headed into the bottom corner by Jay Rodriguez to give the hosts a huge lead.
The goal was dispatched in just 15 seconds to be precise, which would place it in the top 20 quickest goals scored in Premier League history.
Rodriguez has now become the first player in league history to score in the opening 15 seconds of two separate Premier League matches, with his other coming in 2013 for Southampton against Chelsea.
