Goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has admitted that “the ball is in Barcelona’s court” when it comes to his future, with a whole host of English clubs thought to be monitoring the situation.
The Dutch shot-stopper was used mainly in the Copa del Rey last term, playing second-fiddle to regular Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen.
With just 11 starts across all competitions, the 29-year-old is keen to leave Camp Nou in order to gain more minutes.
But the former Ajax man has conceded that it’s down to the Blaugrana whether they sell or not, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all ready to make offers.
“The ball is in Barcelona’s court,” he told Fox Sports after Netherlands 1-1 draw with Italy on Monday.
“I think that I played well in the matches I had in the Copa del Rey.
“I need to wait patiently. The only thing I know is that Barcelona won’t sell me.
“[The Premier League teams] aren’t bad clubs but if Barcelona say, ‘We love you’, then I’ll accept their decision and continue there.
“I’ll wait until we return on the 16th July to see what they’ve decided. I don’t know anything. If the club wants to keep me, I’ll accept that. I signed a five year deal with them.”
