Jan Bednarek returns to Southampton from Aston Villa loan

Jan Bednarek is set to return to Southampton from his loan deal at Aston Villa.

Bednarek moved to Villa Park on a season-long loan deal on deadline day in the summer, but the 26-year-old defender made just one Premier League start for the club and only four appearances in total.

He will now rejoin Saints and is hoping to help the club in their battle against relegation under new manager Nathan Jones.

The Polish international originally moved to St Mary’s from Lech Poznań in 2017 and played 153 games for the club before falling out of favour under Ralph Hasenhüttl.
