D.C. United have signed goalkeeper Kim Joon Hong from South Korean club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC. The 21 year old former South Korean youth international has played his entire career in Korea before this move. He has 46 career games played between Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC and Gimcheon Sangmu between the top two divisions of South Korean soccer. In those games he has 22 career shutouts.

The South Korean 1st and 2nd division champion youngster arrives at D.C. after 34 games played in 2024. I would assume that he comes in as the starting goalkeeper on this roster, but with three new goalkeepers in town… we will see who Lesesne prefers. Kim Joon Hong will compete with a USL Championship veteran of Jordan Farr and a guy who has been a backup in recent time with NYCFC in Luis Barraza.
