Jamshedpur FC midfielder Ritwik Das has promised to deliver an improved performance when the Indian Super League returns for it's 2022-23 season later this year.

Das has become a key player for Jamshedpur FC, coming up with four goals and one assist last season along with impressive performances on his team's run to claim the League Winners Shield.

His performances also saw him picked up for the Indian national team's preliminary squad for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Although he didn't make the final cut, his performances in the upcoming season could pave his way to the AFC Asian Cup next year.

Speaking to Indian Super League's official website, Das spoke about his expectations from himself.

"Can’t talk about pressure specifically. But this is my own expectation to improve this season. I have that responsibility towards myself. I have to perform better than what I did last season. Have to run at least a kilometer more in every match. Have to reach the required position and the ball perfectly. Have to score more goals. I believe, every one of us has same plan."

Das also gave his opinion on a longer Indian football calendar from now on.

He said, "It’s a great news for all the footballers. It’s great to have a longer season, like what happens in European countries. In that case, we are bound to be fit throughout the season. We can keep the momentum. It is going to have a positive impact on Indian football and our footballers."
