Despite announcing that he became co-owner of American football club Rochester Rhinos, who have not kicked a ball since 2017, Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has no intention to retire anytime soon.
The 34-year-old is coming off a sensational 17-goal, nine-assist season and is under contract until 2023 but does not want to stop playing for the Foxes until they tell him to move on.
“I’ve not got any plan at all of retiring, I want to play for this club for as long as possible and try to be as successful as possible with them,” Vardy said.
“So, from that side of things there’s no change, it (the Rhinos deal) is not going to impact anything I do on the football front – my full focus is still with Leicester.
“I want to play for Leicester for as long as physically possible and until I’m told otherwise that’s exactly what will happen.
“I just want to play at the top level to the best of my ability for as long as possible and if Leicester say my time is up then I’ll have to look at where I am at that moment in time.
“Until then there is no thinking about moving my family anywhere.”
Since signing from Fleetwood Town in 2012 for just £1m, Vardy has contributed an incredible 147 goals and 61 assists in 352 career games for Leicester.
