Summer signing Jamie Gittens has shared what Cole Palmer said to him in a conversation the pair had before he joined Chelsea.
Gittens is one of three attacking signings so far this window, and he joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth an initial £48.5m.
The 21-year-old made his debut against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night, and looked impressive with his pace, directness and one on one ability.
Gittens will be hoping to make himself first choice on the left wing for Chelsea this season, but there’s fierce competition for places.
The Blues are working on deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, and the Manchester United winger would be direct competition for Gittens were he to join the club.

Gittens has spoken about the competition at Chelsea, and the Blues reportedly want eight or nine attacking options in the squad to rotate between next season.
Like a number of Chelsea’s signings Gittens started off at the Manchester City academy, and knows Palmer and Romeo Lavia well.
Speaking after the Leverkusen game Gittens revealed what Palmer told him in a conversation the pair had before he signed.
“He said come to Chelsea, that’s all he said,” he told Channel Five Sport.
Gittens is currently the only out and out left winger at the club, and the Blues have identified Garnacho as a player they want to add to the squad.
Chelsea are said to have agreed personal terms with Garnacho, and the deal is believed to be all done on the player side.
