The season has already started, but with just one week played, there’s still time for pundits to fire off some predictions about how things will go.

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville are kings of this game of course, racking up a lot of predictions at the start of the season and then looking back and laughing in May.

Carragher accused his co-star Gary Neville of being too negative about Chelsea’s prospects this season, along with plenty of other mainstream pundits:

“A lot of people are still a little down on Chelsea,” the former Liverpool player said in quotes picked up by Football.London.

“I still think there is two or three players that come into Stamford Bridge before the window closes, so I think they could look a completely different proposition at the end of August.”

We’re certain we will sign one more player, and two looks almost as likely. Three might be a stretch in terms of first team players, but now Timo Werner is gone, who knows? If we find a home for Hakim Ziyech and a loan for Callum Hudson-Odoi we could easily see another wide man come in.

Carragher might be the one who ends up having the last laugh on this one.
