Jamie Carragher annoyed by perceived Solskjaer bias | OneFootball

Jamie Carragher feels Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gets undeserved leeway from fellow commentators Gary Neville and Roy Keane.

The former Liverpool defender, who rarely has a nice thing to say about Manchester United, has fired shots at two Sky Sports employees after already writing a newspaper column on Solskjaer.

It feels, even if the United manager gets an easy ride from his ex-teammates, Carragher isn’t going to be the one to follow the herd because it’s easy for him to do so. Especially when Solskjaer has gone public with shots fired at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

“I did a newspaper column on it — I was with Gary Neville a few days before we did this YouTube chat about the season with Roy Keane,” Carragher told the Tony Bellew is Angry podcast (via the Mirror).

“The two of them just make occasions for Ole because they played with him and he’s their mate.

“They were saying, ‘they can’t win the league, they still lack this, they still lack that, the Glazers aren’t putting enough money in, they should be going for Harry Kane’.

“I’m sitting there thinking, ‘you’ve just signed a player that’s won the Champions League four times, you’ve just spent 75 million on a winger. You finished second last season, you didn’t lose a game away from home all season’, and I’m like…’there’s only one step to go!’”

There’s a lot at stake for Manchester United in their difficult run of upcoming games. With injuries to Raphael Varane and skipper Harry Maguire, both set to be absent for this weekend’s trip to Leicester City, fans can only hope for the best because the team hasn’t been performing well.

Keane tends to be more critical but I enjoy Neville’s measured assessment of the manager, though he is never one to call for a manager’s head unless it concerns Salford City.
