Port Vale will be looking to extend their current winning run in League Two to four games this evening when they face Exeter City.

As a result of their recent upturn in form, Vale have moved to within striking distance of the play-off places in the fourth-tier.

A victory in tonight’s fixture will allow Port Vale to climb up to sixth in the league standings.

When you consider that Exeter currently occupy one of the three automatic promotion places in League Two, Vale know that they will need to be at their very best in this fixture in order to secure a positive result in front of their supporters.

Having utilised the 3-4-1-2 formation during last Saturday’s triumph over Bradford City, the League Two outfit are likely to stick with this system at Vale Park this evening.

Goalkeeper Aidan Stone will be looking to claim his third league clean-sheet of the season against Exeter.

Connor Hall will feature as part of a three-man defence alongside Nathan Smith and Brad Walker who has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Vale during the current campaign.

Mal Benning and David Worrall will be deployed in the wing-back positions tonight whilst Tom Pett is set to feature in central midfield alongside Harry Charsley who has been utilised in several different roles by the club this season.

The 25-year-old is expected to feature in a more advanced central role behind Jamie Proctor and James Wilson.
