James Rodríguez will not end his two-year loan at Bayern Munich, from Real Madrid, a year early, his agency, Gestifute, has told ESPN FC.
The Colombian midfielder fell out of favour with Los Blancos under former manager Zinedine Zidane.
Julen Lopetegui’s appointment led to some speculation that the 27-year-old will return to the Bernabéu a year before his loan at Bayern Munich is set to end.
However, Gestifute told ESPN FC there is no chance he can leave Bayern this summer, the reason being is that there is no option for either club to break the agreement.
Madrid will receive a total of €10m for James’ two seasons away, with Bayern then having the option to buy the Colombian for €35.2m and make the move permanent.
James won the Bundesliga with Bayern last season. He also noticeably did not celebrate he scored at the Bernabéu as Bayern were knocked out 4-3 on aggregate by Madrid in the Champions League semifinals.
