James Rodríguez is reportedly closing in on a departure from Everton after just one year at the club.

The Colombian impressed under Carlo Ancelotti early last season but made just five Premier League appearances after February and is yet to feature under new boss Rafa Benítez.

James was reportedly seen at Manchester Airport on Sunday evening and reports have now emerged that he is in Qatar.

According to the Times and the Liverpool Echo, the attacking midfielder is hoping to seal a move to an unnamed Qatari club and has arrived there for talks.

Time will tell whether or not an agreement is reached but it seems clear the playmaker doesn’t have an Everton future under Benítez.
