James Maddison has commented for the first time since learning he would be dropped from England’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024.
Maddison was relieved of his international duties on Wednesday night when he was told he would be one of seven players not travelling to Germany this summer.

And now Maddison has spoken for the first time, telling on social media of his ‘devastation’ at not being picked by Gareth Southgate.

It was also revealed on Thursday that Liverpool duo Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah would be two of the other players not in the 26-man squad.
