James Maddison has insisted he wants to play an even more crucial role for Leicester next season amid reports that he could be leaving the King Power Stadium.
Maddison has been heavily linked with a move away from the east Midlands this summer with Manchester United and Tottenham both thought to be interested.
However the 22-year-old has calmed fans nerves by claiming that he is already looking forward to pulling on a blue shirt next term.
“I know the fans can’t wait for the new campaign to begin and as a group of players we’re all really excited for the year ahead and what we can achieve together,” he told the Leicester Mercury.
“To be involved in almost every Premier League game last season was brilliant for my development, and overall I was happy with how things went.”
Maddison has been named in the England under-21 squad for this summer’s European Championships in Italy.
