Tottenham defeated Manchester United at home in their recent clash in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs are now 12th in the points table with 30 points in 25 matches and this win would definitely give Ange Postecoglou some breathing space. Ruben Amorim, on the other hand, will once again rue an opportunity missed as a few more results like this will soon see United fans questioning the Portuguese manager.

James Maddison broke the deadlock in the 13th minute, pouncing with lightning speed to capitalise on Andre Onana’s save, which had only parried Lucas Bergvall’s shot back into danger. In this article, let us take a look at the match ratings of the Tottenham players to check how they fared against the Red Devils.

Tottenham Players Rated After The Win Against Manchester United:

Guglielmo Vicario: (8/10)

The Italian goalkeeper was pivotal from the start, making decisive saves early in the game to deny Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho. His reflexes were on full display in the 58th minute with an acrobatic save to his right, pushing away Garnacho’s threatening drive. Vicario’s performance was a cornerstone of Tottenham’s defensive solidity.

Pedro Porro: (5/10)

It was a challenging match for Porro, who found himself outpaced by Garnacho. His rating reflects the pressure he was under, although he was somewhat saved by the young winger’s lack of precision in front of goal.

Kevin Danso: (6/10)

Danso had a relatively uneventful match, which, in a defender’s case, often means a job well done. He was substituted in the 78th minute, having managed to keep United’s forwards at bay during his time on the pitch.

Ben Davies: (6/10)

Starting off on a rocky note when he lost duels to Hojlund, Davies quickly steadied himself. His performance was marked by a recovery to ensure a stable defensive line throughout the match.

Djed Spence: (8/10)

One of the standout performers, Spence was electric down the left. Not only did he provide dangerous crosses, but his defensive work was highlighted by a late, game-saving tackle on Hojlund.

Lucas Bergvall: (6/10)

Bergvall played a key role in the opening goal, his shot being inadvertently parried into James Maddison’s path. His energy and pressing were vital before he was subbed off in the 64th minute.

Rodrigo Bentancur: (6/10)

Bentancur was instrumental in the midfield, helping to control the game’s tempo and exploit United’s weaker midfield setup. His contribution was significant before his exit in the 78th minute.

Dejan Kulusevski (7/10):

Kulusevski was a constant menace, buzzing around and nearly adding to Tottenham’s lead with a fierce shot that Onana managed to save. His work rate and creativity were crucial to maintaining the pressure on United.

James Maddison: (7/10)

Maddison was alert in the box, capitalizing on Bergvall’s parried shot for an easy tap-in. Throughout his time on the pitch, he was proactive, constantly looking for ways to breach United’s defence.

Son Heung-min: (6/10)

It wasn’t a standout game for Son, who seemed to struggle to make an impact initially. However, he came to life in the last 15 minutes, showing his usual drive to push Tottenham forward.

Matthys Tel: (6/10)

Tel didn’t have much to work with in terms of service, but he positioned himself well. His best opportunity came late in the game when Son provided a pass at the edge of the box, but Tel’s shot was disappointingly tame and straight at Onana.

It was not an inch-perfect game for Tottenham; however, they did get the job done at home to ease past Manchester United in the Premier League points table and get the three crucial points.
