James Garner discusses Man Utd future after Nottingham Forest loan | OneFootball

Manchester United youngster James Garner has admitted he has not had time to think about where he will be playing his football next season.

The 21-year-old played a huge role in helping Nottingham Forest achieve promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs during his loan spell at the City Ground.

90min understands Steve Cooper's side would like to take him on loan again during their first campaign back in the top flight and they have first refusal should United sanction another exit.

But Garner has said he has not yet given consideration to his immediate future, though admitted he admired Erik ten Hag's Ajax sides and it's an exciting time to be contracted to Man Utd.

"I've not spoken to [Ten Hag] yet. From the play-off final I've gone straight to being with England so I've had no rest and no break yet," he said.

"It's been football, football, football. I've not spoken to anyone at the club yet. It's time for a rest now. I'm not too sure what the future holds.

"I'm not too sure, personally [regarding any preference]. I've not had much time to think in honesty.

"I've gone from the Championship play-off final to international football. I've not had a breather or time to think about what I want. I'd like to go on pre-season and impress.

"It's down to me as a player to impress and make a mark. I know how good a style of football Ajax play so it's exciting."
