Bayern Munich came into Sunday’s game at Bochum looking to start the recovery from their midweek hammering by Barcelona, and it’s so far so good with a 2-0 lead closing in on half time.
A good day to date has been made even better by the return of Jamal Musiala to the lineup, and he even got himself a rare header.
Vincent Kompany’s side took the lead in the 16th minute, Michael Olise curling home a free-kick, and it was the former Crystal Palace who man who teed Musiala up for his goal 10 minutes later.
It was a very clever goal too, with Olise chipping a free-kick over the Bochum wall, and Musiala getting their before Patrick Drewes to head home.
The two players previously played together in the Chelsea academy, and their chemistry has remained intact if that was anything to go by.
Bayern look set to return to the top of the Bundesliga table, which would end a tough week on a high.
