Ahead of Germany’s clash against England at Wembley, Jamal Musiala (19) discussed a variety of topics from his decision to play for Die Mannschaft, pressure ahead of the World Cup and more.

Looking forward to Monday night’s game against England, Musiala said: “It’s the perfect game for both teams, since both want to head to the World Cup feeling confident. I was a bit shocked by the result due to the strength of England’s squad.”

Back in England since joining Bayern Munich from Chelsea in 2019, Musiala looks forward to playing against Gareth Southgate’s side and has fond memories of playing at Wembley.

“I always enjoy being in England,” added Musiala. “I feel fully motivated to be facing England. With my background and everything, I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait.

“I don’t know how often I’ve played here [at Wembley]. We played a few tournament matches here when I was at school. The stadium is incredible and the atmosphere is always great. I always want to play, no matter how many minutes I get. I’m always hungry to play.”

Musiala was awarded his Bundesliga debut under Hansi Flick and unless the 19-year-old picks up an injury, he’ll make Flick’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.

“I’ve set myself the goal of continuing to develop. The path I’m on right now is good. I don’t feel any additional pressure, I just want to help the team,” added Musiala.

“As a kid, I always wanted to play in the biggest games,” Musiala told reporters. “It wasn’t an easy decision for me to make together with my family and others. But, I’m very happy with it.”
