The United States were not able to build on their lead atop the Octagonal as they were held to a 1-1 draw in Jamaica on Tuesday night.
Scorers: Antonio 22′; Weah 11′
The United States looked ready to blow out the opposition early after Timothy Weah got things started with a goal in the 11th minute.
After receiving the ball from Ricardo Pepi, Weah went on a dazzling run and did well to finish past Andre Blake.
However, just 11 minutes later, Michail Antonio hit one of the most beautiful strikes of his career as he smashed a rocket into the top corner from over 30 yards past Zack Steffen.
Jamaica looked to have won the game late into proceedings with a beautiful headed goal from Damion Lowe in the 87th minute but he was judged to have pushed off Walker Zimmerman.
With the draw, the USMNT temporarily move into first place on 15 points ahead of the rest of tonight’s matches while Jamaica move into fifth place on eight points.
