MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continues as Jamaica takes on Guatemala in Group C on Monday at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
The occasion will be the sixth Gold Cup encounter between the two countries. The Reggae Boyz have won all previous encounters.
The two nations recently met in the Second Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Jamaica won 3-nil to decide the first-place team in Group E after both nations clinched a spot in the Third and Final Round. Warner Brown scored a brace in the victory.
The most recent tilt between the nations at the Gold Cup came in the Quarterfinals of the 2023 edition, resulting in a 1-nil victory for Jamaica at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Guatemala’s last victory over Jamaica was in 2012 during World Cup qualifying — a 2-1 triumph in Guatemala City.
Carson, California also holds some importance for the nations as they played the highest-scoring game in their Gold Cup history at Dignity Health Sports Park in 2005. It was a thrilling 4-3 win for Jamaica that also featured a memorable hat-trick from Carlos “Pescadito” Ruiz.
