Here we have looked at two transfer deals QPR can be expected to make before the new Championship season starts.
Queens Park Rangers have made a steady start to their summer transfer business as they look to move away from the bottom end of the Championship.
The Rs have found themselves stuck fighting relegation in the last couple of seasons, but given how well they did under Marti Cifuentes towards the end of the season, the hope will be that they can climb up the table in the new campaign.
For that to happen, QPR are going to need to be a bit more active in this transfer window than they have been so far.
Cifuentes will want as much of his squad maintenance done before the season starts in early August as possible and with that in mind, here are two deals that we may see happen...
Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a player in demand and it looks as though a loan spell is likely after finding opportunities hard to come by in the Premier League last season.
There are several sides chasing a loan deal with teams such as Blackburn Rovers, Luton Town, Sheffield United, Watford, Hull City, and QPR all credited with an interest in recent weeks.
It has been stated that the winger is likely to be given permission to speak to those interested clubs soon, but QPR could potentially have an advantage over the other sides as it is thought Rak-Sakyi may prefer to stay in London next season, as he looks to secure a temporary move away.
The winger joined Charlton Athletic when he was shipped out on loan in the 2022/23 season, so he could be looking to join yet another London side this time around.
Landing the Eagles attacker would provide Cifuentes with a replacement for Chris Willock, who has joined Cardiff City.
Rak-Sakyi would bring flair, creativity, and an eye for goal from the wide areas, and he would definitely improve QPR’s current attacking options. Furthermore, he seems to be still down the pecking order at Crystal Palace, so a loan move allows him to get regular minutes and showcase what he can bring to Palace in the long term.
Ideally, QPR would like to start the new season with the rest of their squad intact but there will likely be one or two player exits.
Jake Clarke-Salter has grown into a key player for the R's and Cifuentes would no doubt love to keep him but that might not be possible given the summer interest.
It was first reported back in April that teams such as Crystal Palace, Burnley, and Bournemouth were all interested in signing the defender.
It then came to light that Stoke City were interested in signing the 26-year-old, with him considered at the time to be one of their main targets in this window.
The Potters have yet to make a move for the player, but they now face more competition, as it’s been reported recently that Wolves are very keen on the centre-back.
Since Wolves’ interest has been reported, it has since been claimed by Football Insider that QPR would be looking to get around £10 million for Clarke-Salter.
