After leading Mexico to the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Jaime Lozano’s services are now very much in demand.

Lozano has had the luxury of rejecting a proposal of over $1m from Xolos earlier this year.

Now, TV Azteca claims that he has whittled his future down to two great offers: Chivas and the Japan national team.

While Chivas supporters know all about their struggles in recent years, Hajime Moriyasu’s job is under fire right now as Japan are struggling to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Despite being overwhelming favourites to be one of two teams to qualify for Qatar out of AFC Group B, Japan have suffered shock defeats to both Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Though they are six points from qualifying with seven games to play, a third-place finish in Group B would see them go to a one-legged play-off with the third-placed team from Group A for a place in the Inter-confederation play-offs.

TV Azteca state ‘Jimmy’ is Amaury Vergara’s top candidate to take over the rojiblancos to the extent that a meeting with Ricardo Peláez has already been agreed upon.

The former El Tri midfielder has only had one spell in club management, posting a record of 10 wins, 10 draws, and 15 losses in 35 matches with Querétaro in 2017.
