After the completion of his contract as Poland’s U21 national team coach, Maciej Stolarczyk has been confirmed as the new manager of Ekstraklasa side Jagiellonia Białystok.
50-year-old Stolarczyk replaces Piotr Nowak in Białystok, after the club confirmed that he would not lead the club into the new season on Friday. Soon after the PZPN confirmed Stolarczyk’s departure on Wednesday morning, there was confirmation that he had penned a deal with the Żółto-Czerwoni.
Jaga becomes Stolarczyk’s third Ekstraklasa job. He briefly led Pogoń Szczecin at the start of his managerial career, and later led Wisła Kraków for a year – both clubs with which he spent significant time during his playing career. He has also led the Poland national team at U17, U19, U20 and finally U21 level.
Only last week, ensuring they failed to qualify for the 2023 European Championships.
