Sheffield Wednesday are slowly grinding their way back towards the play-off places under Darren Moore and are unbeaten in their last four ahead of hosting Lincoln City on Saturday.

Many had high expectations of this Owls squad at the start of the season, it has not really panned out that way but in Lee Gregory they have a striker bang in form who will fancy his chances against the struggling Imps.

Michael Appleton’s men have not hit the heights of last term yet and fell to a 1-0 loss at home to AFC Wimbledon in midweek.

If Wednesday are to realise their promotion ambitions this season then this is the type of match that they have to win, Lincoln have shown their class in glimpses this campaign but look a shadow of the side who made the play-off final in 2020/21.

With the three at the back system a success on the whole in recent weeks we are predicting just one change to the starting XI on Saturday…

A win could see a return to the top six for Wednesday with defensive solidity holding the key to their success at the moment. Bailey Peacock-Farrell has experienced some indifferent form in the last month or so but in Dominic Iorfa, Chey Dunkley and Liam Palmer, the Owls have one of the best backlines in the division.

Quiz: Did these 25 Sheffield Wednesday transfers actually happen?

Jaden Brown replaces Marvin Johnson at left wing back as the only alteration, the latter has struggled to settle after his summer move from Middlesbrough.

Whereas the versatile Brown has established a good relationship with Liam Palmer inside from him and the pair can contribute heavily in the attacking third.
