Sheffield Wednesday defender Jack Hunt has said that he would like the opportunity to remain at the club and that he never wanted to leave in the first place.
The Owls take on Doncaster Rovers this weekend in a Yorkshire derby and will be eager to get back to winning ways after seeing their streak of victories come to an end in another Yorkshire derby against Rotherham United.
Hunt will be looking to play his part in the weeks to come as they aim to build another winning run, then, and it also sounds as though he wants to be sticking around in the Steel City for as long as possible.
“There is an option in my contract if we get to the Championship and I play a certain amount of games,” he said in the club’s pre-Doncaster press conference, as quoted by Yorkshire Live.
“I would be open to talking about a contract.
“It is well-documented why I left in the first place. I didn’t want to leave first time around.
“I would be interested in staying.”
The Owls would surely be pleased enough to keep Hunt around if the opportunity works for everyone involved.
He’s obviously a player that is committed to the club and wants to get results for it and that is exactly what Wednesday need as they try and get back to the Championship.
Let’s see how the next few months resolve things for the Owls.
