A gang of thugs raided the home of Jack Grealish in Cheshire this week, while the Manchester City forward was in Premier League action for his club against Everton.

The latest raid on a footballer’s home comes just days after it was reported by media in Belgium that Kevin De Bruyne’s property in his home country was trashed by burglars during a break-in, with the midfielder, his wife, and three children not at the property.

It also follows an attack on the home of on-loan Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo in December 2021, when the Portugal international personally defended his property and his wife and daughter in an altercation with thieves.

Now fresh details have emerged on Thursday evening concerning an attack on the personal home of Manchester City and England international star Jack Grealish – who has returned to the UK with the club fresh off the back of their FIFA Club World Cup win.

According to a report from The Sun, Jack Grealish’s home in Cheshire was raided by a gang of thugs while he was in action against Everton on Wednesday night, with around 10 members of family inside the property at the time.

It has been detailed that Grealish’s family were alerted by barking dogs and noises upstairs in the property, before hitting panic buttons to alert police. Thieves fled with £1 million worth of watches and jewellery, while a police helicopter scoured the area with locals warned to stay indoors.

The Sun quote a source who explained, “The family are really shaken. The gang took a lot of watches and jewellery. Initially, they feared they could be facing a hostage situation or worse.”

“They executed their raid when Manchester City were playing live on TV and all of his family had gathered downstairs to cheer him on. No one was injured but there was a lot of panic – everyone was terrified as they were all so vulnerable.”

The source continued, “It’s an enormous property, so it is understandable why no-one heard anything at first. It was also the first time the family had visited, and so they were unfamiliar with the property.

“When the dogs went mad, and they could hear people creeping about, they pressed the security panic alarm. An emergency crack unit responded immediately, with multiple police cars and a chopper deployed.”

Confirming their investigation, Cheshire Police have also told The Sun, “At around 9.50pm on Wednesday  December 27 police were called to reports of a burglary. The caller reported that a number of items had been stolen.

“Officers supported by  police dogs and National Police Air Service were deployed and searches were conducted in the local area but there was no trace of the suspects. No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police.”

Manchester City return to action on Saturday afternoon with a home clash against Sheffield United at the Etihad Stadium, and Pep Guardiola could provide an update on the wellbeing of Grealish during his pre-match press conference later this week.
