Jack Grealish got his Everton career off to a perfect start with two assists on his full debut as the Toffees beat Brighton 2-0.

It was Everton’s first game at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium and they couldn’t have wished for a better start.

After the game Grealish said, speaking to Sky Sports: “It was massive. Our first game at the new stadium, we wanted to put on a show for the supporters, and I think we certainly did that. I always say playing against Brighton is one of the toughest games, the way they play, so we’re very happy to get the win.”

Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner got the goals as David Moyes’ side beat Brighton, who don’t yet have a win after the first two games.

Asked how pleased he was with the performance after making the move from Manchester City, Grealish said: “It was massive. I absolutely loved my time at Man City. I had a great four years there, won a lot of things. But I don’t know, this summer I felt like it was time for change.

“I’ve said before in a different interview, as soon as I spoke to the manager David Moyes on FaceTime, I knew this was the place that I wanted to come. Yeah, there was a lot of reasons why I wanted to come here, and today shows why.”
