One Premier League side could be ready to offer Jack Grealish the perfect escape route from Manchester City this summer as doubts continue to loom over his future.

The 29-year-old has endured an uncertain few months at the Etihad Stadium, with City increasingly open to sanctioning his departure amid growing interest from top-flight rivals and a belief that the player is no longer in Pep Guardiola’s plans.

Grealish was included in Manchester City’s returning pre-season training group this week, but his status within Pep Guardiola’s tactical format remains unclear following a disrupted 2024/25 campaign.

Grealish made just seven Premier League starts last season and found himself outside of the starting 11 in crucial fixtures, while new attacking options this summer in Rayan Cherki and talents like Oscar Bobb returning from injury could see his minutes increasingly limited.

City are not actively pushing Grealish out, but are certainly open to proposals, particularly if they include a sizeable loan fee or favourable long-term arrangements perhaps committing to a purchase in future.

And there is also a growing sense that the Premier League giants are preparing to gradually phase out several big-name players on high wages, with Jack Grealish among those most likely to be moved on under the right circumstances.

Now, according to the information of The i Paper’s Mark Douglas, Everton are interested in signing Grealish on loan with manager David Moyes a ‘huge admirer’ of the England international forward.

While Everton reportedly want to make a pitch to Grealish over joining the club this summer, it is stressed that there remains a number of other Premier League clubs ready to rival them for the player’s signature, including West Ham.

However, any outgoing transfer would require compromises from City, Jack Grealish himself, and whichever club buys him, and Everton are said to be waiting to hear the conditions of a potential deal and whether a permanent exit for the 29-year-old is being prioritised.

Additional reporting from The Independent’s Miguel Delaney reveals that Everton feel they have a chance of signing Grealish due to the player’s anticipated willingness to stay in the north, eyeing stability alongside his daughter and long-term partner Sasha Attwood.

Not only would the Toffees provide Grealish with the chance to stay in the Cheshire region, but they would also present an attractive football opportunity, with David Moyes reportedly willing to build his team around the forward, and offer more freedom than at City.

Jack Grealish’s situation has already attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United this summer, though both clubs view a loan move as more feasible than a permanent signing due to the forward’s sizeable wages and high transfer value.

Manchester City would likely need to subsidise part of Grealish’s salary – reported to be among the highest at the club – for any short-term deal to progress, while club officials are expected to continue listening to offers with the possibility of a resolution becoming clearer next month as clubs make final attacking additions.

Grealish himself is not pushing Manchester City for an exit but is certainly eyeing the right opportunity, and one that offers him consistent football and allows him to rebuild the confidence that once made him one of the Premier League’s standout creative talents.
