Manchester City’s Jack Grealish has held additional talks with manager Pep Guardiola over his future at the club, according to reports.

The England international is facing a crucial campaign with the Premier League champions, having been excluded from Gareth Southgate’s squad for the summer’s European Championships in Germany.

Grealish was one of a few players to have struggled last campaign with Manchester City in light of the historic Treble success, whilst also coming to terms with problems in his personal life and a number of injury frustrations.

Jeremy Doku’s signing from Stade Rennes also intensified the pressure on the 28-year-old to perform, and the Belgian was largely able to thrive in the absence of Grealish with his more direct and fast-paced approach to the game.

But with some speculating that Jack Grealish’s Manchester City future could now be in danger, a new report has revealed the conversations that have taken place between the forward and his first-team head coach.

According to the information of 90Min, Jack Grealish has been further assured that he remains an ‘integral part of the picture’ at Manchester City after holding two rounds of talks with manager Pep Guardiola.

It is revealed that the pair held a conversation in the past week, with Guardiola reiterating his importance to the dynasty being built at City, while the forward is deemed a particular asset in terms of positive personality and role within the dressing room, on top of his on-field impact.

Jack Grealish has not featured in either of Manchester City’s opening two competitive matches of the new season, despite a hugely encouraging run for the club during their four-game pre-season tour of the United States.

Injury had ruled Grealish out of contention for the FA Community Shield meeting with Manchester United in the traditional curtain-raiser to the top-flight season, with the expectation being that the forward was in line for a start.

Manager Pep Guardiola then opted for a more direct and fast-paced approach in the club’s second contest of the new season, as they opened their Premier League account with a 0-2 win away to Chelsea and Jeremy Doku and Savinho starting as the wide pairing.
