Toney has agreed personal terms with Al-Ahli on a three-year deal and is due to have a medical in London on Friday morning before flying to Saudi Arabia.

It is unclear whether their deal for Toney will impact their move for Osimhen but Sky Sports report that Al Ahli do not have two slots available for two foreign players, with Saudi Pro League clubs restricted to 10 foreign players.

Talks between Brentford and Al-Ahli have ramped up this week, with Saudi Pro League officials Saad Al-Lazeez and Michael Emenalo in London to try and close a deal.

Brentford have been pushing to offload Toney, given they would risk losing him for nothing next year if he does not leave this summer.

Toney had hoped to secure a transfer to a big Premier League club but, having been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and Manchester United, nothing has materialised despite his impressive cameos for England at Euro 2024.

Brentford have left Toney out of their squad for their first two games of the season and was also set to excluded this coming weekend.

The Bees will not actively seek a replacement.

Igor Thiago joined for £30m over the summer and, while he could miss the rest of the year with a knee injury, Brentford have Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, Kevin Schade and new £27.5m signing Fabio Carvalho to play in forward positions.

Brentford have also just signed 18-year-old Brazilian forward Gustavo Nunes for £10m from Gremio.
