Ivan Perisic corners: Spurs man took set pieces with both feet vs Chelsea | OneFootball

Ivan Perisic helped inspire Tottenham to an unlikely point against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Spurs were outplayed for the majority of the tempestuous affair and found themselves 2-1 down with just 10 minutes remaining.

Enter Perisic.

The Croatian was signed from Inter Milan on a free transfer in the summer with Antonio Conte having previously worked with the 33-year-old.

Perisic is still looking for his first start in a Spurs shirt having been benched for the opener against Southampton and once again against Chelsea.

But he may well be starting in Spurs’ next fixture against Wolves following his cameo on Sunday.

Perisic looked dangerous as soon as he came on, operating from the left wing-back position.

He whipped in a number of dangerous crosses that had the likes of Harry Kane and Richarlison licking their lips.

Then, in the 96th minute, he produced an undefendable inswinging corner with his left foot that Kane glanced in to score a dramatic equaliser.

What. A. Ball.

Perisic may not have got the credit he deserved for his corner kick considering the antics at full time between managers Thomas Tuchel and Conte.

But, days later, we wanted to pay tribute to Perisic’s role in the draw.

Not just for that corner but for some of his other involvements during the match.

And, if you were watching closely, you would have seen just how two-footed Perisic really is.

Course, he swung in the corner that led to the equaliser with his left foot. But minutes earlier, he had used his right foot to take both an inswinging corner and free-kick with his right foot.

Okay, his right-footed corner wasn’t great but his right-footed free-kick was incredibly dangerous.

We agree that most professional footballers should be capable of doing this but there are very few that actually can. Especially being confident enough to do so at such a pressure moment in a London derby with your side needing the perfect delivery.

So, what foot is Perisic?

Despite trawling the internet, there are no definitive answers. We guess the correct answer is ‘both.’

so it seems even he’s not sure.

While we’re hugely impressed with Perisic’s ability to take set pieces with either foot, it doesn’t beat the video of Santi Cazorla going over to take a corner with his right foot but switching to his left when told by Laurent Koscielny.
