Ivan Juric holds first Roma press conference | OneFootball

Newly appointed Roma manager Ivan Juric held his first press conference ahead of the match with Udinese.

The Croatian technician spoke to the media for the first time since his arrival earlier in the week as Daniele De Rossi’s replacement.

“The team with Daniele has shown in recent months that it is up to par with the others. I saw things that I liked during training,” said Juric.

“It will take some time but I am convinced that the team can press high and accept certain situations.”

“These guys can play aggressively. I like the players I have. The position and intelligence of the players matters a lot. It takes time but the team will learn to implement my ideas.”

“Udinese? It will be very difficult. They’ve been one of the best teams in the league so far. They’ve done very well in recent games.”

“Roma is definitely the greatest club I’ve coached, this is a great opportunity for me. I must show that I am up to it. When this is the case you don’t think about the length of the contract. Looking at the players I have here I think I will be able to do my job.”

“In these recent Roma matches I saw some positive and some negative things. Unfortunately results are always at the root of a manager’s departure. But not everything is to be dismissed. Daniele did an excellent job. The team is in a very good physical shape. They gave everything under Daniele and soon as I came in I was impressed with the state of the team.”

“The owners were very clear to me,” he added. “The objective is reaching Champions League qualification.”

“Dybala is intelligent, he also does an excellent job defensively. I want him to play right forward to come back with his left foot. He has great quality. He can definitely play together with Soulé.”
