Third choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has opened up on life under Enzo Maresca and his plans for after his playing days are over.
Bettinelli is in a unique position at Chelsea where he knows he’s very unlikely to play but he’s established himself as a popular member of the squad following his arrival from Fulham in 2021.
In fact the 32-year-old has only made one appearance for the Blues during his time at Stamford Bridge, but it’s clear he still plays a key role even if he doesn’t feature on the pitch.
Chelsea’s current first choice goalkeeper is Robert Sanchez, whilst the Blues also signed Filip Jorgensen this summer, with Djordje Petrovic being sent on loan to Strasbourg despite impressing last season.
There appears to be a good feeling amongst the squad and a lot of the players have said how much they have enjoyed working and playing under the Italian.
Whilst Bettinelli is unlikely to get any game time under Maresca he’s opened up in a recent interview about how much he’s enjoying working under the 44-year-old.
