Pep Guardiola has vowed to try and ‘improve and do it again’ after Manchester City’s Premier League title success and admits the winning feeling is ‘addictive’.

City were crowned as Premier League champions for the third time in four seasons earlier this week, Manchester United’s defeat to Leicester leaving the club with an unassailable lead at the top of the division.

Victory follows on from Carabao Cup success last month, with the possibility of securing a historic treble as Guardiola’s side to prepare to face Chelsea in their first ever Champions League final appearance on May 29 in Porto.

Guardiola’s latest success continues his incredible run since taking charge at the Etihad five years ago, having won three league titles and five domestic cup trophies in a trophy-laden period since his appointment as City manager.

The Spaniard has now opened up on his latest triumph and admits that winning silverware is an ‘addictive’ feeling, outlining his ambitions to go again next season and strive for further improvement.

“It’s so addictive, so nice,” Guardiola told a pre-match presss conference ahead of City’s trip to face Newcastle on Friday evening.

“It’s addictive and after that, why should you stop? Why should we not try to improve and do it again?

“From the outside you get results, but I still see things I don’t like.

“When you have the feeling it’s enough and the pleasure is not there, it’s the time to say goodbye, but if the players still want to continue, then we’re going to carry on.”
