Dan-Axel Zagadou never made it past the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy but his quality was always known by hardcore supporters.

In 2017, Zagadou departed the French capital for Borussia Dortmund where he has found more playing time and transitioned into a quality center-back.

It’s a reality that PSG fans have come to deal with. There are so many phenomenal players coming through the ranks but breaking into the first team at PSG is incredibly difficult so the youngsters are often shipped off to other clubs to continue their careers.

In a recent interview on RMC Sport, the 20-year-old Frenchman warned his former club about the atmosphere they’re about to enter as Paris Saint-Germain travels to Signal Iduna Park for a Round of 16 UEFA Champions League match.

“The atmosphere? It’s incredible. This stage is a bit of a blast. When you play with the wall behind you, it’s serious…I’ve never seen that in my life. Frankly, it’s a pleasure to play here.”

“I think it [the Yellow Wall] can play against Paris. We have the additional motivation, the fans push us when we play at home. The fans do a very good job, they are fantastic and it really pushes us to go even further.”

The Yellow Wall is going to be a problem for PSG but they should come into the match prepared to deal with the noise. Their manager, Thomas Tuchel, was the man in charge at Dortmund from 2015 to 2017 before taking over the French giants. With his leadership, the squad should know what to expect when they walk out of the tunnel.

The key to victory will be silencing the wall and with Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr., PSG have the players to do just that.
