Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin says his future is in the hands of his current club, with Arsenal mooted as a potential landing spot for the Ukraine international.

The 25-year-old established himself as Carlo Ancelotti's first-choice stopper for the second half of the 2023/24 season, displacing Kepa Arrizabalaga after the Chelsea man had been signed on loan as cover for Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgian goalie suffered an anterior cruciate ligament at the start of the campaign but, as one of the best players in the world in his position, came back into the team in May before starting the Champions League final victory over Borussia Dortmund.

However, Lunin made a significant contribution to Madrid's league and European double, making 31 appearances in all competitions, and has now revealed he is desperate to continue playing regularly.

He told MARCA: "Will I stay at Real Madrid? Let's see, let's see. Obviously I want to continue, but...well, the only thing I can say is that everything went well with Real Madrid and that it is now in their hands. That's what I can say about my future.

"I understand that everything is going to be complicated, because Courtois is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. But this also makes me better and stronger mentally. I want to play and be number one, that's normal."

Premier League runners-up Arsenal are said to have tracked the former Leganes, Real Valladolid and Real Oviedo loanee, with current understudy Aaron Ramsdale facing an uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners reportedly put in a £50,000 bid for Wolves' Daniel Bentley but saw their offer immediately rejected.

Elsewhere at the Bernabeu, Spain right-back Dani Carvajal has revealed he is trying to convince Manchester City midfielder and international teammate Rodri to sign for Los Blancos.
