It’s now called Maedamania – Daizen really is a true Celtic icon

Daizen Maeda can be a frustrating player at times, but he’s a character we all love, and there’s a reason he’s one of the first names on Brendan’s Celtic team sheet every single week…

He gives nothing but one hundred and ten percent in each and every game, with his incredible energetic intensity. He just never stops and must be a nightmare to play against (just ask the disappointed James Tavernier).

It’s not just his hard work, he can play too, and knows where the goal is, especially against theRangers who must be sick of the sight of him. Yesterday he got the assist and the goal of the game all in a few magical seconds and later calming scored the decisive penalty kick that won Celtic our record breaking 119th trophy to make us officially the most decorated club in European football bar none.

Daizen has added more goals to his game this season,  in Europe where he has hit three goals in the biggest club competition in the world and at Hampden too were he hits the back of the net five times across the semi-final and final of the Premier Sports Cup.

He already got a special place in the hearts of every single Celtic supporter, and yesterday Daizen further cemented that with a terrific performance that helped us win the Premier Sports Cup. Daizen Maeda scored that fine goal, and he ran non-stop for the entire 120 minutes, and it was rather fitting that he was the man who scored the winning spot kick.

His celebration told you it meant the world to him, just like it did to all of us. He fully deserved to be the Celtic cult hero that he’s been for a while. Now Daizen Maeda has been elevated to legendary status. He truly is a Celtic icon.

Maedamania right enough.
