AS Monaco continued their unbeaten streak in style as they beat Crvena Zvezda 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League at the Stade Louis II on Tuesday night. It means that the Principality club are still unbeaten this season in all competitions, and are well placed in the Champions League.
Crvena Zvezda manager Vladan Milojevic described Monaco as being “in another world” following his side’s heavy defeat. The Serbian manager added that his side were unable to “rival” Les Monégasques’ “modern football”. In a post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Monaco manager Adi Hütter praised his side.
“It is a big victory. We played a very good match, especially in the second half. However, even if we started well [in the first half], we conceded the equaliser. We had to pay attention and I am very proud of the way that my players reacted,” began the Austrian.
He added, “We played a very strong second half. The difference was enormous. Scoring five goals in the Champions League is incredible”
Despite currently sitting second in the Champions League ‘league phase’, the objective, which is to finish in the top 24, has not changed. “Our ambition is still to finish in the top 24,” said Hütter.
