Former Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has this week named a somewhat surprising current Blancos star as the player whom he feels possesses the best shot in world football.
Hazard, for his part, of course spent a four-year stint in Spain on the books of Real Madrid between 2019 and 2023.
And though this spell, from an individual standpoint, proved a disappointment, the Belgian was nevertheless afforded the opportunity to play alongside some of the standout players in world football.
Speaking in an interview with 90min this week, Hazard, in turn, made clear his appreciation for the talents of three such players.
Asked to build his ultimate player, the 33-year-old first opted for Toni Kroos for passing, and Sergio Ramos for defending.
It was upon the question of the game’s best shooter being put to Hazard, though, that the one-time winger sprung something of a surprise…
His choice? Blancos midfield standout Federico Valverde:
“In shooting, this guy [Valverde] is crazy. In training and in matches. But he’s a midfielder so people don’t see.”
