West Ham United manager Rehanne Skinner is looking forward to another opportunity to get points on the board when Manchester United are the visitors to The Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday.

The Hammers have collected 11 points from 14 league outings so far and the East Londoners will be keen to enjoy a strong end to the season.

West Ham United stunned Arsenal in their last home game before the international break and manager Skinner is now looking forward to another opportunity to pick up points against Manchester United.

“Every game is a new opportunity to get points, so you have to move on quickly,” Skinner said when speaking in the pre-match press conference. “There’s been quite a bit of time between that game [Arsenal] and this one, lots of things have happened between then and now.

“It’s about focusing on the next game, getting back to doing the basics well which we know we can do, the things that led to us getting a positive result against Arsenal. We want to try and keep on building on the quality of what we are able to do at home.

“It’s another opportunity and we will give it everything that we have got to try and get some points out of the game.”

West Ham United’s latest opponents Manchester United are fighting to keep their season alive. The Red Devils face a huge challenge to qualify for Europe again given their seven-point deficit on third-placed Arsenal. Skinner expects Manchester United to give their all but her focus is only on her own side.

She said “Every weekend, they’re putting everything into it to try and get results. Sometimes, it goes in your favour and sometimes, it doesn’t. Ultimately, they want to be the highest that they can in the division as we all do, so I have no doubt that it’ll be their remit to get points out of the game to get them back onto the route where they want to get to in terms of Champions League and so on.

“We are playing all of the teams that are trying to fight for those same positions. All we can really focus on is what we want to try and get out of the game. We want to get everyone back out on the grass together this weekend and put in a really good performance after the international break.”
